Acrylics in pen form offer a good variety of colours. The tips are quite fine enough for detailed work. Great on fibre based surfaces (paper/card). A larger set with more colours would be more practical. A sealer will be required for the non-porous surfaces for durability.
Great pack as a starting point. Amazing colour selection. I would have loved more 1mm pens thou. Overall great value for money. Awesome product.
These pens are on par with other pens I have used. They are reasonable value for money and work well. They are a great addition for someone wanting to experiment with or use pens on any surface for acrylic artworks. They work well to supplement brushes and I enjoyed using them.
While these surfpaints seem marketed towards use on surfboards skateboards and other common substrates, I actually ordered them for use on small model kits as a quick way to add accents or to finish line detail with one or two quick strokes. This is a metallic colour acrylic paint marker set with some traditional metallic colours like silver but also some pastel metallic colours which I do not currently have in my paint lineup.Priming the pens before first use is very simple and then adding paint to my models is simple and painless and the pens allow far more control than small brushes do on most parts.Paint coverage of the pens is very good and for most surfaces and details, one stroke is enough to achieve and opaque coverage. Some of the lighter metallic colours may need a second or a third coat depending on your primer, colour or colour you are painting over. The acrylic medium seems to flow very well from the bullet tips of the marker pens + pigment load seems quite high. The markers do dry more opaque than when first lay down onto plastic which can seem slightly patchy but after drying the coverage definitely improves somewhat.I really like how simple these paint markers are to use and there is no cleanup except for replacing the cap onto the marker and storing away for next use.A great product and I look forward to adding more surfpaints to my acrylic paint marker collection!
These pens hold up to what they boast and really do write on everything. Having said that, they aren't necessarily permanent on everything. If it's a non-porous plastic surface it'll take a while to dry and be reasonably permanent but you can still rub most of it off it needed. For using it on a surface outdoors I'd probably spray a little varnish on top just to help it stay. It won't come off with just water alone though.I would say that you should be sure to read the instructions printed on the side of each pen - first you need to shake them thoroughly, then push the nib down onto a piece of paper for about 10 seconds until the ink flows up into the nib.I really like these pens but I think I'll have to work hard to keep them out of the hands of my kids because they really love them too. This is a set of paint pens that I can easily recommend.
